π¨π¦ Victoria Day Trip: Hatley Castle π° & Downtown ποΈ
βͺοΈ Hatley Castle After visiting Butchart Gardens, we took Bus #72 (20 min wait) to downtown, then transferred to Bus #51 (check Google Maps for routes πΊοΈ). Arrived around 3:50 PM. The castle is located inside Royal Roads University ποΈ. Although the interior isnβt open to the public, the exterior and grounds are stunning! The vast lawn in front is perfect for sunbathing βοΈ or lazy afternoon chilling. π I absolutely loved the sprawling lawn β ideal for lying down and relaxing! β οΈ Our schedule was rushed, but if you have time, spend a lazy afternoon here with squirrels πΏοΈ and wild peacocks π¦! βͺοΈ Red Fish Blue Fish We accidentally took the wrong bus ππ»ββοΈ and decided to Uber to the famous fish & chips spot. Cost: $37 CAD, 30-min ride. Downtown won our hearts β all four of us agreed weβre coming back next weekend! By 6 PM, the sunset glow washed over the seaside restaurants π . The mix of laughter, conversations, and happy barks from dogs created a lively yet peaceful atmosphere. We even petted two big dogs near the restaurant β so fun! We ordered: BC Halibut 1pc: A huge piece of tender, non-fishy fried fish β honestly the best fish & chips Iβve ever had! ππ» Albacore Tuna Wrap (friendβs order): Half-cooked tuna (in a good way!), generously sized and tasty π All seating is outdoor β standing or under large parasols. Eating with ocean views and sunset vibes was pure relaxation! Downtown is also great for shopping ποΈ. We spotted several boutiques (didnβt have time to explore fully), plus Lululemon and Arcβteryx. Weβre coming back next week! Finally, we took an Uber from downtown to Swartz Bay π. Around 8 PM, no traffic β arrived in 30 mins, cost $60 CAD. #Canada #Vancouver #Travel #VancouverLife #Victoria #UBC #VanLife #DayTrip #Getaway ππποΈ
