🇨🇦 Victoria Island 🛳️ Super detailed guide—must save this! 💫

It’s a perfect day for a City Walk 🚶🏻‍♀️ We didn’t drive 🚗 because public transport is more cost-effective You get to experience both the ferry ⛴️ and double-decker buses 🚌 If you’re thinking of a short trip, Victoria is absolutely a great choice! Departing from Vancouver, you can take the 620 bus from under Bridgeport SkyTrain Station. It takes about 35 minutes to get to Tsawwassen BC Ferry Terminal. It’s recommended to arrive half an hour early—sometimes it gets crowded and you may need to queue for check-in. If you miss the ferry, you’ll have to wait an hour! 🎫 About BC Ferries It’s best to book your tickets online in advance When you arrive, just check in and exchange for a physical ticket A one-way ticket is $19.10 for ages 12 and above Seniors (65+) ride free Monday to Thursday 🆓 If you arrive early or late at the ferry terminal, you can change your ticket for free On the ferry, there are restaurants / kids’ facilities / charging zones / study areas The ride from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay takes 1 hour and 35 minutes You can enjoy the ocean view or go up to the deck to feel the sea breeze 🌊 So relaxing~ Once you arrive in Victoria, you’ll be right at Stop A 🚉 Take bus 70 to downtown Tell the driver you want a day pass—only $5 💰 It allows unlimited bus rides for the whole day, but cash only! My first stop was Chinatown for dim sum 🍵 The bus ride to Chinatown takes about 50 minutes 【Don Mee Seafood Restaurant】— avoid 🙅🏻‍♀️ It was a letdown… doesn’t compare to Vancouver’s options at all 🥹 Expensive and not tasty ❌ Not recommended ⭐ Fan Tan Alley / Chinese Canadian Museum—must visit! The staff kindly shared stories about early Chinese immigrants who built the railways 🛤️ ⭐ Munro’s Books 📚—great place to browse and take photos ⭐ The famous fish & chips spot Red Fish Blue Fish—waited an hour in line, but worth it! Recommended: Fish & Chip with Halibut, and Tacone with Jerk Fish 🫓—both delicious ⭐ Miniature World—definitely check it out (see my other post for details). You can easily spend 45-60 minutes here ⭐ The Parliament Building—my one regret 😢 I recommend going early to line up for free tickets to tour inside. I went at noon and got a ticket for 3:40 pm, but because I was stuck in line for fish & chips, I missed it. By 4 pm they wouldn’t let me in 🥲 So I just took photos outside 📸 ⭐ Inner Harbour—food stalls, little markets, and even live music on boats! The itinerary isn’t too packed—suitable for seniors and kids 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Lots of unique architecture throughout downtown 😍 Took the 6 PM ferry back to Vancouver—caught the sunset on the way 🌇 Sea breeze + golden hour + blue skies = perfection 👍🏻 #VictoriaTravel #VancouverDayTrips
