🇨🇦 When it comes to matcha in Toronto – THIS is the spot! 🍵✨
This is a very, very green Matcha story 🍵 Anybody who came to Toronto around 2016 remember the three iconic Japanese dessert spots near Eaton Centre on Dundas? There was 📍Uncle Tetsu (still going strong!), the tearful memory of 📍Pablo (RIP 😢), and the once-lineup-king, now quietly shining — 📍Tsujiri! This spring, matcha is everywhere. Every café is pushing matcha drinks and desserts. So my rebellious soul said: let’s go back to the OG — 📍Tsujiri. And one sip tells you: their matcha is still elite. 🍵💚 Matcha drinks, matcha soft serve, matcha parfaits… Their hojicha (roasted tea) ice cream is also amazing, and the dango mochi balls are still perfectly chewy 🍡 Now the desserts — I just noticed ALL their cakes are matcha-related. You must try the matcha daifuku and soy daifuku… The mochi skin is thin like a fingernail (I kinda wish it was a bit thicker 🥹), but the matcha cream inside is light and not overly sweet. But the biggest surprise was their handmade matcha nama chocolate! Dusted with slightly bitter matcha powder, hiding melt-in-your-mouth white chocolate inside — it dissolves on the tongue 🥹 📍Tsujiri 147 Dundas St W, Toronto #TorontoFood #Matcha #DessertTherapy #HiddenGemDessert
