🇨🇦 Why is no one talking about the big plate chicken and roasted mea

In the vast city of Toronto, there are always some hidden gem eateries waiting to be discovered. This Xinjiang cuisine restaurant is tiny with a small storefront—you could easily miss it if you’re not paying attention. Though it’s still under the radar in Toronto, it’s actually quite well-known in Waterloo and has been around for a long time. The shop is run by just one server and one chef; sometimes the server even helps out in the kitchen. If you walk in and no one’s there, there’s a bell on the checkout counter you can ring. The atmosphere is quiet and not noisy at all. The menu isn’t overly complicated. As for me, I’m obsessed with big plate chicken when it comes to Xinjiang food. They offer both large and medium portions of big plate chicken. Since we were a small group, the medium size was more than enough. The chicken was tender and flavorful, not dry at all. The potatoes were fully infused with the sauce but still held their shape, not mushy. The noodles were chewy and springy—does anyone else love the noodles in big plate chicken more than the chicken itself? 😂 The original portion of noodles was already enough, but I ordered an extra serving anyway. I saw the table next to me order roasted meat buns, so I followed suit. The filling was super hearty! Warning ⚠️ It’s best to tear them open first—they’re scorching hot when you take a bite! The yogurt is 10 CAD a pitcher, which I think is totally worth it—way better than those tiny 5-6 CAD portions you get elsewhere that only last two sips. Even small shops can hold big surprises! It was another day of eating and drinking to my heart’s content. It’s no wonder this place has survived so long in Waterloo. Hope more delicious spots like this open in Toronto! 😁 #TorontoLife #TorontoFoodAndFun #XinjiangCuisine #HiddenGemRestaurant #MyStudyAbroadStory #Food #DailyFoodShare #WhatToEat #WeekendGetaway #HiddenBoutique
