📍 622 Fisgard St, Victoria, BC V8W 1R6 A Japanese restaurant in downtown Victoria, right next to an accounting firm. The storefront is small, with the entrance down a few steps—but inside, it’s surprisingly spacious, and there are quite a few servers too. I was too lazy to cook at noon, so I just went downstairs to grab a quick bite! 🍱 Sashimi Lunch 💰23 This is a special on the lunch menu. It comes with around eight pieces of standard sashimi—tuna, salmon, etc. The best and freshest part, I thought, was the scallop—it was so sweet and fresh! What’s unique here is the base under the sashimi: instead of radish, ice, or lettuce, they use the same seaweed you find in miso soup. Besides the sashimi, the set also includes a bowl of miso soup and a serving of rice. Since I don’t like white rice, I asked the server to swap it for a salad—and that worked out nicely. 🌊 Fresh Uni Sashimi 💰20 or 39 I also ordered a small portion of fresh uni sashimi. It’s not available every day—when it is, they put a little blackboard at the entrance. A small portion is $20, and a large one is $39. Texture-wise, it was good—sweet, with no fishy aftertaste—though not exactly mind-blowing. I preferred eating it with a bit of soy sauce; it made the sweetness stand out more. #Canada #CanadaFood #VancouverIsland #VancouverDayTrip #Victoria #VictoriaFood #VictoriaEats #Foodie
