🇨🇭 Bern, Switzerland | The Most Beautiful Capital
As a permanently neutral country, Bern boasts a well-preserved medieval old town. Wandering its streets, the stone arcades and fluttering flags 🚩 leave a deep impression; climbing to a higher spot reveals rolling terracotta rooftops stretching out. The Aare River, fed by the crisp alpine waters of the Alps, meets high ground and forms a huge loop, encircling Bern like an emerald ribbon and endowing it with vitality. 💚 The terrace of the Federal Palace (Bundeshaus) is a fantastic viewing spot—on clear days, you can see the continuous mountains in the distance clearly, including the Eiger (Maid of the Mountains). ⛰️ The serviced apartment I booked is in the city center; its top-floor rooftop offers a wide view, allowing a full-range appreciation of the charming rural scenery around Bern. It happened to be a weekend that day: downstairs, an Italian restaurant hosted family dinners with guests in nice outfits; after Spain beat Germany in the European Championship, fans celebrated wildly outside bars, setting off smoke. For Europeans, summer is just one big carnival! 🎉 For us travelers, we never expected to encounter the hottest summer here… Our one-day visit to Bern was brief, and we didn’t explore much, but its beauty has already settled deeply in our memories. #CityCenterHotel #EuropeTravel #ThreeMonthTrip #BernSwissCapital #MostBeautifulCapitalInEurope #Alps #Eiger
