šØš Bern | Mountains in Bloom, Yoshino Cherries in Full Glory šø
š: The Rose Garden in Bern, Switzerland, has become a stage for the blossoming of Yoshino cherry trees. This overlook on a small hill offers a unique combination of flowers and city views, making it a distinctive spot for cherry blossom viewing in Europe. š There are about 100 Yoshino cherry trees in the garden, gifted by a Japanese agronomist, Yoshiyuki Urata, who was so impressed by the working methods in Switzerland after his studies that he decided to donate them. Additionally, from the viewing platform, you can see the entire city in motion: red buses crossing long bridges, birds flying over churches, and pedestrians strolling through the streets. It feels like watching a miniature model, perfect for a leisurely afternoon daydream. š¬ š: From Fribourg, you can take a direct Flixbus, which takes about 2 hours; alternatively, you can transfer via Basel by train. š¶: Free š: March 30th - March 31st š”: There are still about one to two weeks left for the blossoms. You can enjoy the falling petals, but it's not recommended to visit much later. Bern doesn't have many unique features, so a half-day to a full day trip is ideal. #Switzerland #Bern #PlaySpring #EuropeanCherryBlossoms #OffTheBeatenPathEurope #SwissTravel #SwissSpring #BernCherryBlossoms #GermanyCherryBlossoms #SpringCherryBlossomTour #SoloBirdwatchingSpot #EuropeanSpring #YoshinoCherry
