π¨π Lucerne | I Prefer to Call It Luzern (Travel Guide)
π Lucerne, also known as Luzern (with a lake like a piece of jade and mountains like a lush forest), means "light" in Latin, symbolizing this place as a shining mountain lamp in π¨π Switzerland, warm and brilliant. π‘ π A city whose name is so beautiful it takes your breath away, with captivating lake and mountain scenery that is simply irreplaceable in its beauty. π Transport: Take a train from π¨π Zurich, and you can arrive in just over an hour. π (For sightseeing within the city, I recommend a πΆπ»πΆπ»ββοΈ City walk, as the entire city is not very large.) π Main Attractions: 1οΈβ£ Lake Lucerne π: It is said that Lake Lucerne is the birthplace of the Swiss Confederation. The color of the lake surface, under the βοΈ sunlight, displays an incredible π© emerald green hue. β Lake Cruise: You can choose to take a large π’ sightseeing boat or a πΆ small blue boat to cruise around Lucerne. Looking up, you can see the majestic ποΈ Swiss Alps in the distance. It's an absolutely wonderful experience! π 2οΈβ£ Chapel Bridge π: β The symbol of Lucerne, the world-famous ππ Chapel Bridge, also known as π the Water Tower Flower Bridge (I personally think photos really can't capture its grandeur). Built in 1933, it is the oldest covered πͺ΅ wooden bridge in Europe. The bridge is decorated with 17th-century paintings, and there is an octagonal water tower in the center, which was originally part of the city wall. 3οΈβ£ Musegg Wall π: β The most surprising β sightseeing spot!! None better!!! Climbing to the top allows you to overlook the entire city of Lucerne, with breathtaking views that are simply magical. π€© β οΈ Make sure to navigate to the π MΓ€nnliturm tower. I highly recommend it. Although it involves a bit of a hike and some steep stairs, I strongly suggest you push through and climb up. It is definitely worth it! A hundred percent worth it! π 4οΈβ£ St. Leodegar Church π: β Located by Lake Lucerne, with its iconic twin spires, the church is particularly exquisite inside. π 5οΈβ£ Lion Monument π: β Described by Mark Twain as "the saddest and most moving stone figure in the world." π Cuisine: For π« chocolate shops, I recommend Bachmann, a local century-old dessert shop (opened since 1897) with very distinctive local packaging. There is also a π€© chocolate waterfall wall inside for photo opportunities. π Although Lucerne is not very large, there are plenty of interesting places to visit. ποΈ I wish everyone a pleasant journey! π #Switzerland #SwissTravel #Lucerne #LakeLucerne #LucerneTown #LucerneTourism #EuropeanTravel #OutdoorsIsMySpiritualSanctuary
