🇨🇭 Open Day at the Conservatoire de musique de Genève

I've walked past the Conservatoire de musique de Genève many times, but today was my first visit. Took advantage of the open day to let my sister explore and touch all the instruments she's interested in. 🎶 There were so many parents and kids there! Even babies under two years old! I should have brought my brother along too. 😂 First thing to mention: the music conservatory's historic building is stunning. It's like a maze inside, and wandering through the corridors is half the fun. 🏰 Each classroom is dedicated to a different instrument. The musicians are incredibly patient, explaining everything and guiding the kids to play, pluck, blow, and strike. It feels like they genuinely love their profession and want to share the beauty of their instruments with the children. ❤️ Today, my sister was particularly fascinated by the cello (violoncelle). She got so into it with the bow (l’archet) that she didn’t want to give it back to the musician. After a performance, the musician knelt down and said to the kids: "Look, this is the magic of music. It can express so many things you want to say." 💓 We also tried the recorder, oboe, clarinet, piano, guitar, trombone, and more. Most of the classes are for kids over six, so we'll wait a bit. It feels like in Geneva, once kids turn five, there are so many more activities to choose from. 🎶 Does anyone have their kids learning instruments here? How’s it going? Time flew by so quickly! After the experience, we recharged with some snacks and took a couple of laps on the 2-franc pony ride at the chess park. So satisfying! 🐎 Tomorrow (Sunday), the "Music Marathon" continues. Check out the performance schedule in the last picture. 🎉 #ConservatoireDeMusiqueDeGenève #WeekendPlans
