đ¨đ Switzerland | A Day in Bern: Random Shots of the Old Town
Who knew Switzerlandâs capital is Bern? I always thought it was Zurichâdefinitely the most low-key capital ever! Itâs super pleasant to wander around, and there are barely any crowds. đ§đž Transportation Stayed in Grindelwald and took a train to Bern. SBB train tickets are available on the spotâjust buy and board, no advance booking needed! đ Kramgasse Commercial Street (Hidden Gems Inside!) Zytglogge (Clock Tower): Bernâs iconic landmarkâdonât miss the mechanical figure show at the top of the hour! âł Street Fountains: There are 11 âcentral street fountainsâ along the road, each with its own story (see Photo 1). The best part? You can fill up your water bottle here when thirsty đ°âsuper convenient, a total Swiss perk! Einstein Haus (Einsteinâs Former Residence): I visited his old home, but letâs be realâI still donât understand E=mc². đ Still cool to stand where he came up with big ideas! Underground Shops: Super unique! Tucked beneath the street, these little shops feel like a secret worldâgreat for browsing quirky souvenirs. Arcades: The overhanging arcade-style buildings reminded me of southern Chinese citiesâsuch a fun cross-cultural vibe! 𧹠Bärengraben (Bear it) Only spotted one bear during my visitâmy stop here was done in 5 minutes! Still cute to see it laze around, though. đť Rosengarten (Rose Garden) Climb a small hill near the Bear Pit, and youâll reach the Rose Garden. Itâs the perfect spot to overlook Bernâs entire old town! đ¸ Einsteinâs Bench is here tooâI sat for a bit, like I was chatting with him (if only he could explain that equation!). Lunch at Kornhauskeller Restaurant A restaurant converted from a cellarâelegant and quiet atmosphere. The food was decent, and dining in a historic underground space felt extra special. đ˝ď¸ #Bern #Switzerland #EuropeTravel #EinsteinHouse #BerninaExpress #BernFood #HoneymoonTravel #EuropeFreeTravel #SwitzerlandFreeTravel
