🇨🇿 Tábor | A Charming Day Trip from Prague!

🚉 Getting There ✅Train (book via Můj vlak app) or bus (Flixbus) – under 1.5 hours. ✅The town is tiny—walk everywhere! 🗺 Itinerary 🧡 Arrival: Stepped off the train into a quiet, tourist-free town—just a few locals in sight. ✔️ Žižkovo náměstí (Main Square): ✅Surrounded by Gothic, Renaissance & Baroque buildings. 📣Statue of Hussite general Jan Žižka stands proudly in the center. 🧡Church Tower Climb (Scholar’s Church): 📣80 CZK (60 CZK student, cash only). ✔️Dark, winding stairs felt like a medieval castle—had to duck under a giant dormant bell at the top! Views? Worth it. 🧡 Klokoty Monastery: 20-min walk through empty forest paths (spooky but thrilling!). ✔️Free entry—stunning chapel + flower-filled courtyard. (Free toilets!) 🧡 Kotnov Tower + Bechyně Gate: Historic ruins with a mini-theater playing animated shorts about Tábor’s history. 🧡 Scenic Return: 🌷Followed the Lužnice River back to the station—rolling hills, fields, and cottages. 🌷Passed local shops/cafés for last-minute snacks. 📝 Tips & Missed Spots 🍽️ Dining: Cozy eateries around the square (great for Czech meals/coffee). 🕳 Underground Tunnels (Hussite Museum): Medieval escape routes—ran out of time! 🚉 Delays: Trains often late (ours was 64 mins)—check apps for updates. #CzechDayTrips #HiddenGems #MedievalVibes
