Lake Constance (Bodensee in German)—encircled by Germany, Austria, Switzerland (and some say Liechtenstein makes it four!)—has been my longtime love. Last summer, I obsessively visited three times, exploring lakeside towns across all three countries! 🇩🇪 Germany 📍 Konstanz ⭐️⭐️⭐️ • The lake’s largest city—not my favorite, but staying in Loretto Forest (quiet, lakeside, with great swimming spots) saved the trip! 📍 Meersburg ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Split into Upper & Lower Town, with vineyards, a bustling lakeside promenade, and a hilltop castle offering postcard views of red roofs against blue waters. • Bonus: Took a scenic car ferry from Konstanz—so fun! 🚢 🇦🇹 Austria & 🇨🇭 Switzerland 📍 Bregenz, Austria ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Visited for the legendary Bregenz Festival (that floating stage!!) and rode the Pfänderbahn cable car—stunning panoramic lake views! 📍 St. Gallen, Switzerland ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Just 40 mins from Bregenz! Tiny but mighty, with the UNESCO-listed Abbey of St. Gall—a must-see for history lovers.
