🇩🇪 5-Star Pork Knuckle in Stuttgart – Claus Brauhaus 🐖✨

I stumbled upon this place by chance and decided to give it a try since it was pretty crowded. 🍽️ 🍖 The Whole Pork Knuckle: Let me just say—this knuckle is AMAZING. The skin is incredibly crispy 🧨, with almost all the fat rendered away, leaving a crackling crust. That said, if you don’t like hard textures, it might be a bit challenging to chew. The meat, though? Tender and juicy—it actually bursts with juices when you cut into it! And surprisingly, no weird porky aftertaste 🐷❌. The sauce is a classic German-style gravy. The yellow side is a potato dumpling topped with cinnamon (why do Germans love cinnamon so much? 😫). We picked a coleslaw-style salad 🥗 – shredded cabbage with a light dressing of oil and a hint of mustard. Honestly, it was pretty good – fresh, crisp, and slightly sweet (a nice change from sometimes-bitter German veggies!). 🥩 The Steak: We ordered it medium. It was a bit tough for my taste, and I’m still not fully used to “bloody” steaks—kinda felt undercooked to me 🩸😅. But the flavor was nice—that sweet myoglobin aroma (my friend thought it was too bloody, but I liked it). The real star was the side salad—served WARM! ♨️ And it wasn’t the mushy frozen kind you get at supermarkets. This one was soft, flavorful, and tasted really fresh. Only downside: some dark burnt bits from the griddle were mixed in. It came with two sauces: a tomato and bell pepper one on the left (kinda reminded me of Xinjiang noodles—tangy and tasty 😋), and a garlic cream sauce on the right (not really my thing 🧄). 🍹 Drinks: The Coco Kiss was delicious – tasted like a strawberry yogurt drink! 🍓🥤 Remember to stir it well—it’s not overly sweet. The other drink was too sour for me 😖… but if you like sour sparkling drinks, you might enjoy it. ✅ Overall: Great location with nice views 🌆, but the portions are HUGE. We two girls couldn’t finish our meals—left half behind 😳. Pro tip: you can order a half portion of the pork knuckle if you have a smaller appetite. The service was excellent—the staff speak slowly in English if needed and are very patient. During peak hours, they might be busy but will attend to you eventually. If you’re going at a popular time, better book in advance! 📅 #LifeInGermany #GermanFood #Stuttgart #StuttgartFood
