📍 Chen Xiang Gui East Berlin Branch 2 (Soft Opening) Finally tried the viral Egg Milk Wine! Drank it sweating on a hot day, but still loved it ❤️; the unsweetened Oat Sweet Fermented Grain drink was icy and perfect for summer 🌱; Northwest-style mixed noodles were refreshing, but I still prefer their classic soup noodles 🍜; the unphotographed roujiamo was solid, side dishes were just okay — realized too late that the marinated egg I wanted wasn’t served 😢 Next time! 📍 Duodeli Rice Noodles Their chicken rice noodles blew me away — finished every drop of the soup, so flavorful! 🍗✨ I’d only had cross-bridge rice noodles before and wasn’t impressed, but this was a whole new experience. 📍 Shan Shan Little House (Forever Fave ❤️) This year’s new menu hits: flavor-packed eggplant and sizzling cabbage with vermicelli are now must-orders 😋; pictured are spicy pig trotters, mixed hot pot (“Yi Guo Xian”), and homemade lemonade. Loved the egg dumplings and pork skin in the hot pot! 📍 Tibetan Restaurant & Duoxia Milk Tea (near Ostkreuz) Beef dumplings = 👍; veggie ones = just okay; noodle soup tasted homely and was fairly priced. 📍 Random Western Food Interlude Upper Burger Grill’s ribs are a sometimes-craving 🍖; summer calls for lakeside vibes, so we had brunch at Emma & Paul's Biergarten in Alt-Kladow — standard German breakfast 🥚🍅, popular among elderly lake tourists. Fried eggs + tomato was interesting, and it’s a ferry stop (yes, that famous one where German transport tickets turn into boat tickets! ⛴️). 📍 Hyped Sichuan Restaurant 0086 Went at 6:15 PM on a weekday and still had to wait 🕑; the eggplant was delicious, but my friend’s recs — “not spicy” taro chicken and twice-cooked pork — were already borderline for my mild spice tolerance 🌶️😅. Didn’t dare try spicier dishes. Had to survive on cucumber salad 🥒. 📍 Chaomin-Congee (Disappointment ❌) From viral Vietnamese congee hotpot to now offering Xi’an snacks — everything was too salty: congee, dishes, even the roujiamo 🧂😖.
