🇩🇪 Bremen | Travel Notes & Photo Diary 📸✨
Bremen’s main train station is one of the most beautiful in Germany 🚉💫. The grand hall features a stunning white dome with intricate murals. The square in front is spacious, and the station’s façade looks majestic when viewed from across the street. All the major attractions are within walking distance — just 10 minutes from the station! On the way, you’ll cross a small bridge with a classic Dutch-style windmill (Kaffeemühle) 🌾📸. Snap a pic here and everyone will think you’re in the Netherlands! 🏛️ Marktplatz Here you’ll find St. Peter’s Cathedral (with its iconic twin towers), the magnificent Town Hall, the Roland Statue 🛡️, and the Church of Our Lady. The cathedral’s interior dome is breathtaking. Don’t miss the famous Town Musicians statue — the donkey’s nose and legs have been rubbed shiny for good luck! 🍀🐴 💶 You can climb the 60-meter cathedral tower for €3… but I don’t recommend it ❌. The staircase is extremely narrow — barely fitting one person. Passing others requires acrobatic skills 💪😅. And once you finally reach the top? The view is underwhelming and blocked by thick wire mesh — hardly photo-friendly. 🟤 Böttcherstraße Just beyond Marktplatz lies this captivating lane 🧱✨. A golden entrance gate and red-brick expressionist architecture — mostly designed by Bernhard Hötger — make it a visual feast. Here you’ll find the famous Glockenspiel carillon 🎶, art galleries, and even a traditional candy workshop 🍬. 🌸 Schnoor Quarter A maze of narrow cobblestone lanes lined with colorful historic houses 🏘️🎨. Filled with charming cafés, restaurants, and boutique shops. The name “Schnoor” means “string” in Old German, referring to its history as a district of fishermen and craftsmen. You’ll find art studios with unique paintings and another candy shop where you can watch sweets being made — perfect for gifts or a treat! 🍫 🌊 Weserpromenade As Germany’s second-largest port city, the waterfront is a must-see 🌊⚓. Many old ships have been converted into restaurants 🚢🍽️. Perfect place for a relaxing evening watching the sunset over the river 🌇. ⚠️ One downside: unfortunately, Bremen has a noticeable homeless population in many areas, which can sometimes feel unsafe. #Bremen#TravelGuide #ExploreGermany #WeekendGetaway
