🇩🇪 Chemnitz, Germany
It’s been a year since I moved to Dresden—time for a spontaneous getaway! 🚆 From Dresden Hauptbahnhof, take the RB30 train, and you’ll arrive in Chemnitz in just one hour. After getting off, head toward the shopping street, and you’ll pass by some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Must-Visit Spots 📸 1️⃣ Chemnitz Opera The opera house sits in a large square, surrounded by a Gothic church and an art museum—perfect for photos! 2️⃣ Karl-Marx-Monument A giant head statue of Marx—very imposing! 3️⃣ Roter Turm (Red Tower) A historic landmark next to the town hall fountain. Great for relaxing on a bench and soaking up the sun. ☀️ 4️⃣ Altes und Neues Rathaus (Old & New Town Hall) The town hall consists of two buildings, and the square outside hosts flower 🌷 and fruit 🍉 markets. Dinner at "Asia Palast" 🍽️ 📍 Annaberger Str. 145, 09120 Chemnitz This Chinese buffet offers way more variety than Dresden’s options, with different sections: 🔥 Hot Food Section Shrimp 🦐—so good! Also recommend the fried cauliflower, crispy chicken, and chicken strips. 🥩 Teppanyaki Grill Veggies (bean sprouts, broccoli, bell peppers, carrots) + meats (lamb, beef, turkey, venison, octopus, kangaroo). (Warning: Kangaroo meat gets super tough after grilling! 🦘) Customize your sauce, then a robot waiter delivers your food to the table! 🤖 🍣 Sushi Section Limited options, and the sashimi didn’t look super fresh. 🍍 Fruit Section Lychee, pineapple, banana, orange, and melon! 🍰 Dessert Section Mini cakes, cream puffs, donuts, and ice cream! #GermanyTravel #DayTripFromDresden #Chemnitz #FoodieAdventure #HiddenGems #TravelDiaries ✈️
