🇩🇪 Chinese Food in Heidelberg
After two weeks of traveling in Europe, finally—a real Chinese meal! 🎉 These days, finding Chinese food in big European cities 🏙️ is easy, but it’s trickier in smaller towns. Luckily, in charming Heidelberg, there’s a Chinese restaurant that stands out with its traditional decor and rich Sichuan-inspired menu full of Chinese flavors 🇨🇳. Let’s be real: the dishes look authentic and the taste is acceptable, but they’re not quite as traditional as you might hope—probably adjusted more for European preferences. 😅 📍 Convenient Location: 👣 6 min from Heidelberg University 👣 11 min from Schlangenweg 👣 18 min from Heidelberg Palace 🍽️ What We Tried: 🐟 Boiled Fish Fillets | €17.50 The fish was tender and smooth, served with scallions, cabbage 🥬, and cilantro. Not very spicy—definitely not mouth-numbing 🥵. 🐓 Spicy Chicken| €15.90 A house specialty. Though not authentic dry stir-fried chicken, it was saucy, tender, and fragrant with chili 🌶️. 🥩 Twice-Cooked Pork | €17.50 Soft pork stir-fried with scallions, onions 🧅, and black beans. Well-spiced and tasty 👍. 🌶️ Mapo Tofu | €15.50 Tofu with minced meat, Sichuan pepper, and fermented black beans. Smooth but slightly sweet—not very spicy. 🥬 Stir-Fried Cabbage | €13.50 Simple and refreshing—cabbage wok-tossed with garlic 🧄, ginger 🫚, chili, and a hint of vinegar 🍃. The restaurant is easy to find—right next to the Old Bridge. The interior is beautifully decorated in Chinese style 🏮, and having rice and tea 🫖 there definitely warmed our Chinese hearts ❤️. 📍 Asia Heidelberg Haspelgasse 2, 69117 Heidelberg, Germany ⏰ Wed-Mon: 12:00 - 14:30, 17:30 - 21:30 ❌ Closed on Tuesday #Heidelberg #HeidelbergFood #ChineseFoodInGermany #GermanCuisine 🥡🇩🇪✨
