🇩🇪 Finally Made It to Romantic & Contradictory Berlin

Came from Amsterdam with a short stop in Cologne before arriving in Berlin. I initially planned to skip Germany this time due to limited time, but since many friends rank Berlin as their top city, I couldn’t leave without seeing it. But honestly… I’m disappointed. In just three days, I experienced more discrimination here than in over five months traveling across Europe 😔 Including but not limited to: Differential treatment from waiters and shop staff Local kids throwing things and making faces 🤨 People whispering harassing comments as they passed by My favorite spot was the Berliner Unterwelten (Underground Tour) – we did Tour M about the Berlin Wall. It was fascinating, and I do recommend it 🚧 However, the guide’s commentary had a clear ideological bias. As travelers seeking objective history, it made my friend and me uncomfortable. Still, it was insightful in some ways. I admit – there were also very kind people in Berlin who made us feel welcome ❤️ And parts of the city felt undeniably romantic… But based on my personal experience, I just couldn’t fully love this place.
