🇩🇪 First time visiting Drachenburg Castle in Bonn
🐉 Took STR66 directly from the city center The train runs along the Rhine River after leaving the city. After getting off, head uphill to the visitor center to buy tickets for the mountain train, then queue up for the ride There are two stops 🅿️—the first is Drachenburg Castle, and the terminal is the mountain peak, where there’s a Dragon Rock viewpoint offering a stunning of the city (didn’t post pics due to image limits). Highly recommend taking the train to the top first, then walking 🚶 down to the castle (~10 mins). The scenery along the way is beautiful—some of these shots were taken during the descent. Entering the castle 🏰 requires a ticket: €8 for adults, €6 for students (my ticket!). The moment I stepped inside, I was blown away! Totally different from any other European palaces or castles I’ve visited! We first explored the outer grounds, then headed to the underground museum. Two entrances: one leads to exhibits about the servants’ living conditions from over a century ago, the other showcases the castle’s history ✍️ Finally, we eagerly entered the castle interior—classic, elegant decor, noble and refined yet with a playful charm. Truly unique and worth the visit! 💒 Summer opening hours: 11:00-18:00. Plan your hike accordingly! Only regret: realized at the foot of the mountain that I’d forgotten my camera’s memory card 😅, so had to rely on my phone for all the shots. Could’ve been even better with my camera… #Germany #LifeInGermany #Photography #TravelGermany #Nature #Bonn 🌿📸
