Finally made it through finals week—time to switch to travel mode! 👇 Exploring Munich, the capital of Bavaria and Germany’s third-largest city 🌆 🚄 Transportation: Departing from Göttingen, approx. 4 hours by ICE 🗺️ Most attractions in Munich city center are concentrated. Here’s a detailed route (follow this order to avoid backtracking!): Main Station ➡️ Alte Pinakothek ➡️ Asamkirche ➡️ St. Peter’s Church ➡️ Heiliggeistkirche ➡️ Viktualienmarkt ➡️ Marienplatz ➡️ New Town Hall (Law Library on 3rd floor) ➡️ Theatinerkirche ➡️ Munich Residenz ➡️ English Garden 1️⃣ Alte Pinakothek 10 mins by bus from the main station. Regular ticket 9💶 (student 6💶), only 1💶 on Sundays!!! One of the world’s top six art museums, featuring works from the Middle Ages to the mid-18th century: Da Vinci’s Madonna with the Carnation, Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, Monet’s Water Lilies, Dürer’s Self-Portrait in a Fur-Collared Robe. 2️⃣ Asamkirche A blend of Baroque and Rococo elements, known as the pinnacle of dark Baroque-style churches. The moment you push the door open, it’s truly breathtaking 🫨. 3️⃣ St. Peter’s Church Right next to Marienplatz. Climb the tower for a panoramic view of the city. 4️⃣ Heiliggeistkirche Went for the paper cranes but didn’t see any 👀. 5️⃣ Viktualienmarkt Mostly fruit stalls with high-quality, super fresh produce! Also street performers playing accordions and guitars 🎸—perfect for a leisurely stroll. 6️⃣ Marienplatz Puppet show clock at 11:00/12:00/17:00 daily. The retro music box is charming 🎵. 7️⃣ New Town Hall Law Library (3rd Floor) Spiral staircase paired with intricately carved bookshelves and wooden doors—like stepping into a magical academy! Open for visits only from 16:30-16:40 (10 minutes!). 8️⃣ Theatinerkirche All-white interior design, spacious and bright, elegant and grand. The play of light and shadow feels like being in a movie. 9️⃣ Munich Residenz Witness the lavish lifestyle of the Wittelsbach family over 700 years! Allow at least 3 hours—could easily take half a day if explored thoroughly! Recommend the Residenz + Treasury combo ticket: regular 15💶, student 13💶. Chinese audio guides available at the entrance. 🔟 English Garden Right after the Residenz is the Hofgarten, and further ahead is the English Garden—Munich’s largest park. Sadly, didn’t see the famous river surfing 🏄, but it was perfect for soaking up nature and recharging 🔋. #MyStudyEvolution #LifeInGermany #GermanStudents #Germany #MuseumsWorthVisiting #StudyAbroadTravel #EuropeTravel #TravelGuide #JLife #IncrediblePhotoSpot
