🇩🇪 Munich is Such an Underrated Gem!!!

The moment I landed in Munich, I felt truly alive 😍. My inner thought: "There are places abroad this clean too?!" And we got so lucky—the weather was absolutely perfect every day 🏼. No weirdos around, no one running around screaming on the streets. Everyone was just chatting, laughing, super chill and relaxed. It honestly felt like teleporting back home (I won’t even start on the gum stains and absolute chaos on UK streets…😅). 🗓️ Day 1: City center walk → Marienplatz → Frauenkirche → Viktualienmarkt 🍜 Food: Noodle place hyped on u…even noodle lovers and haters would be speechless 😶. Service was great though! Mariannenhof: A must-go! Half-portion BBQ ribs + pasta was more than enough for two girls 👌. 🗓️ Day 2: Königssee → Ramsau → Magic Forest (joined a day tour) 🐟 Food: Ate grilled fish at HB by Königssee—crispy and tasty at first but got way too salty and greasy later 🫠. Dinner: Vietnamese pho at “Nantam”…not good. The noodles felt undercooked. 🗓️ Day 3: Oberammergau → Wieskirche → Neuschwanstein Castle (another day tour) 🌭 Food: Had a hotdog at the castle…meh. Dinner: Chinese restaurant “Fan” — so delicious but a bit pricey 😋. 🗓️ Day 4: Asam Church (closed for renovation 😤) Munich Residenz (maybe we didn’t explore the right parts? Just saw rooms and meeting halls—not as impressive as Xiaohongshu made it seem 🫥) 🍩 Food: Café Frischhut: The famous round doughnuts—pretty okay. Dinner at Augustiner-Keller: Everything was extremely salty 😖. The pork knuckle was over-fried and hard, only a few sausages were decent. The best part was the potatoes beside the sausages 😂. But hey, when in Germany… 🗓️ Day 5: Back to the UK 😢 But everyone must try “Mian Cilang” (Chinese restaurant)—so freaking good! They gave us free jelly and ice cream 😭. Munich really had to tempt me one last time and make me fall in love… 👎 Cons: German food is SALTY. I have a high salt tolerance, but this was next level 🧂—and smoked on top of that! Also, many places only accept CASH 💶‼️ Cafés, some restaurants, souvenir shops, even the shuttle tickets at Neuschwanstein—cash only. We brought only €100 and struggled lol. But overall—so clean, so organized, I’m in love 😍. Munich is officially my favorite city ever visited. My body’s back in the UK, but my heart is still in Munich ❤️🩹. #Munich #TravelRecommendation #Citywalk #HiddenGems #StudyInTheUK ✨
