🇩🇪 Nördlingen, Germany

Nördlingen is a charming town in Bavaria, built right in the center of a massive meteorite crater! It’s also famous for being a battlefield during the Thirty Years' War. Today, it’s one of only three fully walled cities in Germany (along with Rothenburg and Dinkelsbühl). And yes—it’s the real-life inspiration for Attack on Titan! Walking along the walls, you might spot little fan graffiti from fellow pilgrims. ❤️ The red rooftops and colorful houses are absolutely dreamy! 🏡 📍 Walking Route Guide 📌 A - Deining Gate (Town Entrance) Enter through this gate from the train station. Climb up the medieval walls right away! 📌 B - Baldingen Gate Walking from A to B covers ~1km (⅓ of the wall). Takes 30 mins with photo stops—views are similar beyond this point. 📌 C - St. George’s Church & Daniel Tower Cut through town to reach this Gothic church. The Kirchturm Daniel (90m tower) is climbable! Entrance is through a small, easy-to-miss door (cash only! 💶). Views = stunning—red roofs + green fields! ❤️ No elevator—steep stairs only! Fun fact: Until March 2024, there was a resident tower cat 🐱 (now retired). 📌 D - Reimlingen Gate Walk to this gate to loop back to the main train station. The whole town is explorable on foot in half a day! 🍽️ Food Rec R - Taj Mahal Indisches Restaurant Delicious Indian curry + great service! 👍🏻 #AttackOnTitanTown #Nordlingen #GermanyTravel #WeekendGetaway #GermanTowns #Rothenburg
