A Day in the "Attack on Titan" Town: Climbing the Tower + Exploring!
Finally, my pilgrimage to the real-life AoT town! 🥹 📍 Nördlingen, Germany 🟠 Getting There: The town is small—perfect for a day trip from Munich! Took RB 89 from München Hbf at 9:35 AM (arrived 11:35 AM). Just a 10-min walk from the station to the town’s iconic walls. Returned on RE 89 at 4:21 PM (back in Munich by 6:21 PM). No transfers needed—4h round trip. 🟠 Climbing the Tower: The Daniel Tower (St. Georgskirche) is unmissable! Had to climb a spiral stone staircase + wooden stairs (leg day 💪). Saw the giant clock and AoT fan graffiti along the way. At the top, bought a student ticket (€3, cash only!). Pro tip: You can borrow a Survey Corps cape from the staff for photos! 😍 (Also, met the legendary tower cat 🐱—retired after 15 years of service, now living its best life in town.) The view from the top was insane—felt like strapping on my ODM gear and soaring! 🟠 Exploring the Town: Spent the rest of the day wandering (with Hiroyuki Sawano’s OST in my ears 🎶). Not many shops, but cute cafés and restaurants. Some places only take cash. Prices were way cheaper than Munich—got Thai curry + tom yum soup for just €11! Discovered you can walk along the medieval walls before leaving—probably connects to other gates! #AttackOnTitan #AnimePilgrimage #Nordlingen #Tatakae
