Here’s how I spent a perfect summer day exploring the best of Baden-Württemberg’s hidden gems! 🌿 Blautopf: A Turquoise Paradise Our first stop was the legendary Blautopf ("Blue Pot")—a stunning natural spring with unreal turquoise waters 💙. Located just 30 minutes from Ulm in the fairy-tale town of Blaubeuren, this magical spot looks straight out of a fantasy novel! ✨ Why it’s special: The water is so clear and blue (thanks to mineral reflections) that it almost glows! A short, scenic loop trail (about 1 hour) takes you around the spring and through peaceful forests 🌲. Legend says a water nymph lives deep in the spring—keep an eye out! 🧜‍♀️ 📸 Pro tip: Visit in the morning for the best light and fewer crowds! 🍽️ Back to Ulm for… Spanish Food (& Doggo Love!) After working up an appetite, we headed back to Ulm’s city center for lunch at a cozy Spanish restaurant (name forgotten, but worth finding!). The paella was delicious, but the real star was the restaurant’s resident dog 🐕❤️—a super-friendly floof who made the meal 10x better! 🇪🇸 Ulm’s food scene surprise: You’d expect only German food, but there’s actually great international cuisine too! Many cafés and restaurants are pet-friendly 🐾—perfect for animal lovers. ⛪ Ulm Minster: Under Construction but Still Epic Of course, no trip to Ulm is complete without seeing the world’s tallest church! The Ulm Minster is currently under renovation (scaffolding and all 🏗️), but it’s still majestic AF. 🔨 Renovation fun fact: The church has been under construction for 600+ years, so a little scaffolding doesn’t faze it! You can still climb the tower (if you dare—768 steps!) for panoramic views. 🌅 Why Ulm & Around is a Must-Visit This area is perfect for: ✅ Nature lovers (Blautopf, Danube River walks) ✅ Foodies (German + international flavors) ✅ History buffs (Ulm Minster, medieval old town) ✅ Dog enthusiasts (so many friendly pups everywhere!)
