🇩🇪 Regensburg Day Trip: The World’s Oldest Sausage Grill! 🌭️

Finally visited the UNESCO World Heritage ancient city of Regensburg! Luck was on our side—the "Rain-burg" lived up to its name but stayed dry during the day ☀️. 🏠 By the old stone bridge, we found Historische Wurstkuchl—officially the world’s oldest sausage grill! For over 800 years, it has been serving fast food to working people (and is also recognized as the world’s oldest fast-food restaurant!). 🌭 For just €3.50, you get a takeaway bread roll with grilled sausage—juicy, tender, and absolutely worth it. Tourists flock here, forming long queues, but the wait is enjoyable with views of the Danube River behind you and the cathedral ahead. When ordering, the lady at the counter asked if we wanted sauerkraut. We initially said no, but she smiled and asked again: "Are you sure?" 😅 We took the hint and added it—and it was the right choice! Not too sour, it perfectly balanced the richness of the sausage.
