🇩🇪 Trier: Marx’s Hometown & Germany’s Ancient Gem
Once a pilgrimage site for Chinese visitors, Karl Marx’s house stood oddly quiet today. We pushed open the door to find a €5 ticket sign—but no staff in sight! Settled for a photo outside instead. 📸 Yet Trier’s real magic lies beyond Marx: Germany’s oldest official "city" (founded by Romans in 16 BC!) 8 UNESCO sites packed into a town of 110,000 people 🍻 Food & Drink Adventures Trier’s local beer 🍺 – Crisp, malty, with a clean finish (*10/10!*) Subway’s Salami sub 🥪 – Tasty, though the bread could’ve doubled as a weapon (so hard!). 🐄 Mountain Mischief & Cow Diplomacy Hiking up the hills, we learned the true meaning of "the mountain looks closer than it is" 😅. Halfway up, we met a herd of aloof cows 🐮—perfect photo op (if you ignore their indifference). Roman ruins, medieval churches, and Moselle vineyards 🍇 A living history book—with or without the crowds! #Trier #HiddenGermany #MarxWasHere #RomanRuins #EuropeTravel 🏛️✨
