🇪🇸 It's all in Santander. Why not show off seafood!
We hit Santander at 4 PM and headed straight here for food—this legendary spot, Taberna La Prensa! It’s tucked away in a residential area, and locals love it. It reminded me of Manuela on the outskirts of Seville—step inside and it’s a whole surprise, a huge, farm-style restaurant with tons of space. 😲 🦞 Grilled Lobster (Langosta Brasa) | €35 Lobster isn’t on the regular menu—waiters hand out a separate sheet with different lobster preparations and sides. We went for grilled lobster with tomato-pineapple salad sauce. The lobster was fresh-killed and grilled, with no fussy seasonings—just pure, sweet lobster flavor with a hint of smoky char. The tangy sauce, with chunks of tomato and pineapple, was chef’s kiss—such a perfect match. 🤤 Garlic Scallops (Zamburiñas Ración) | €16.8 The scallops were decently sized, and the garlic flavor was rich—only downside? No glass noodles (I can’t help it, I miss them! 😂). They were super tender, almost slightly rare? So silky and delicate on the tongue. Fried Pig Ears (Orejas) | €9.25 This was a first for me! They’re cut into rectangular slices, fried until crispy and fragrant—total bar snack material, perfect with a drink 🍻. Fried Calamari (Rabas) | €14 Huge portion—like, overflowing the plate! Thin, crispy batter tender squid, and the fried onions in there added so much flavor. I even stuffed some into bread to make a DIY squid bocadillo—only wish there was alioli to dip it in 🧄. If you’re traveling in northern Spain, don’t miss La Prensa. It turns “eating seafood” into something earnest and lovely. 🌟 #SpanishLife #SpanishFood #NorthernSpain #CitiesWorthVisitingForFood #HiddenGemRestaurant #SantanderTravel #SantanderFood #SpanishSeafood #NorthernSpainTravel #SpainRoadTrip
