🇪🇸 Pittsburgh | Revisiting Morcilla – Still So Good
Inevitably left stuffed…again 😂 One of Pittsburgh’s most popular Spanish spots—and for good reason! Lots of tasty tapas and small plates. Some hits, some misses (friends say there are a few clunkers, but I’ve been lucky so far 🍀) 🫒 Surryano Ham A generous plate of high-quality ham with nuts—perfect with drinks! Better for 3–4 people though…we struggled to finish it between two. 🐟 Cod Cheek First time trying—so tender and fresh! Lightly breaded, crispy outside, with a zesty green goddess sauce. Delicious! 🐮 Oxtail Braised until melt-in-your-mouth tender, topped with melted cheese. Rich, juicy, deeply satisfying…but definitely heavy. One bite = heaven; more might be too much. 🦀 Softshell Crab A seasonal special! Pretty small, but still tasty and fresh—rare to find in landlocked PA. 🐙 Octopus Classic Spanish offering. Buried under melted butter and pimento cheese—tender but quite salty. Better with bread! 🥬 Asparagus in Whipped Feta Light, fresh, and perfectly seasonal. Whipped feta made it creamy but not heavy. 🍨 Rhubarb Sorbet with Caramelized Honey Looked a bit odd but tasted fantastic—tangy, sweet, and refreshing. Perfect way to end the meal. 🍹 Sangria Roja Highly recommend! Tried the white wine sangria last time—red did not disappoint. 🇪🇸 Morcilla 📍 3519 Butler St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201 🅿️ Street parking available 💡 Reservations recommended (especially on weekends!). Walk-ins may only get bar seats. We went before 6 PM on a weekday and got a table—place was packed by 7! Hope you’re eating well too—like & save if you love Spanish food! ❤️ #PittsburghFood #SpanishTapas #MorcillaPgh#FoodieReview #PittsburghEats #TapasLovers
