🇫🇷 Caen, Normandy: A Charming Stopover ✨

We chose Caen as our pitstop from Paris to Mont Saint-Michel – and it turned out to be a hidden gem! 🚗 Why Caen? Driving directly to Mont Saint-Michel takes 4+ hours (377km) – exhausting for solo drivers! Caen (pop: 100k) offered the perfect break with its quiet Airbnb (hello, local bakeries! 🥐) and easy parking. FYI: Not ideal without a car – no metro & scarce taxis! 🏛️ Unexpected Discovery: Planned to visit the Normandy WWII Museum (80th D-Day anniversary!), but stumbled upon... Caen City Hall! (Bonus: massive underground parking 🅿️) This Gothic beauty was built in 1066 by William the Conqueror (yes, that English king! 👑). Fun fact: William & his queen were buried here – now marked by a simple marble slab (thanks, French Revolution 😅). 🌤️ Vibes: Postcard-perfect weather – blue skies, fluffy clouds, and insta-ready flowers everywhere! 🌸 #FranceTravel #Caen #RoadTrip #Normandy #HiddenGems #ChurchLovers 🇫🇷🚗
