🇫🇷 Colmar Food | The King of Value for Money
📍 Les Bateliers Opens at 18:30, but queues start by 18:00! Arrive early if you want a canalside table. The staff are incredibly friendly and humorous — a fantastic dining experience. Portions are huge (we were stuffed with 4 people!). 🍹 Drinks We ordered drinks first: 1️⃣ Kombucha (Strawberry & Lime): Fizzy like a Mojito 🍓, with a refreshing aftertaste of green tea and citrus. Slightly tart, not too sweet. 2️⃣ Bière Blonde d’Alsace: A light, crisp local beer — perfect for cutting through rich flavors. 3️⃣ Gewurztraminer: A gentle white wine with subtle lychee sweetness 🍇. 🥗 Mains (Including Salads) No separate starter section — salads are listed as mains. 4️⃣ Salade du Jour: A surprise salad! That day: ham, melon, mixed greens, and mini cheese cubes 🧀. 5️⃣ Jambonneau (Braised Pork Knuckle): Served with incredible potato wedges (like street-style "wolf tooth potatoes" 😂). The tomato-based sauce resembled tomato-braised beef — perfect with bread! 🍅🐖 6️⃣ Rognons avec Spaetzle: Beef kidneys cooked medium-rare (avoid if you dislike offal ⚠️). Paired with Spaetzle — a German egg noodle/dumpling hybrid. 7️⃣ Gratin au Munster: A cheesy bake with meat, veggies, and Gnocchetti (Italian dumplings) — rich and comforting! 🧀🔥 🍮 Dessert 8️⃣ Kougelhopf Glacé: Iced Kougelhopf cake with an ice cream-like texture 🍦, dusted with cocoa powder? — strangely addictive! 😭 An amazing experience — my top pick in Colmar! 😌 #France #TravelFrance #FrenchFood #ColmarFood #Colmar #ColmarTravel
