Colmar, France and the Wine Village of Saint-Hippolyte

I had originally planned to go to Luxembourg on Saturday, but at 8 p.m. on Friday, I spontaneously decided to head to the French town of Colmar first and spend half a day there. I also tried my luck with a hotel booking on the way, and it turned out great! πŸŽ‰ Colmar is well-known because of Hayao Miyazaki's comic *Howl's Moving Castle*, one of the architectural inspirations for the comic is from Colmar, making it a must-visit spot for Miyazaki fans. The town was also featured on *The Chinese Restaurant* for its delicious food. πŸ” The main reason I came here was to buy wine πŸ˜‚. Alsace is a famous wine region, and Colmar is right in the heart of it. We picked up four bottles of wine with different sweetness levels from the town's outdoor market to bring back and taste. 🍷 On the way back from Luxembourg on Sunday, we returned to the Alsace region. Many people from Switzerland, Germany, and France visit the small town of Saint-Hippolyte. The colorful, romantic French houses and the vast vineyards make it a charming place. There are plenty of wine cellars in town. After tasting three types of white and red wines at one of them, we bought two cases to take home. The average price was only 7-9 euros per bottle, much cheaper than in supermarkets or markets, and they were straight from the wine cellars. The wines had a rich fruity aroma. I highly recommend that friends nearby drive here to buy some, but be sure to calculate the allowed quantity per person to avoid fines at the border. πŸš— Of course, in France, you have to try the local specialty, baked escargots (snails). Dipping small pieces of bread and snails in the sauce on the plate is absolutely delicious. There's also the local Tartes, which look similar to pizza but are topped with white fresh cheese. If you have a strong reaction to cheese, just eat half a piece to avoid an upset stomach later. πŸ˜‹ #SwissLife #FrenchWine #ColmarVillage #MiyazakiComic
