🇫🇷 Paris | Musée Marmottan Monet 💜
The Musée Marmottan Monet, located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, is home to the largest and most comprehensive collection of Monet's works in the world! 🎨 👒 Hidden in a noble residence, this museum is an Impressionist universe. Originally a Napoleonic-style mansion from the late 19th century, it was purchased by art collector Jules Marmottan to display art from the Napoleonic era. In 1934, his son donated the house and its collection to the French Academy of Arts, transforming it into the museum we know today. 🏰 What truly put this museum on the map was the 1966 donation by Monet's son, Michel Monet, of a vast number of his father's works. This made it the world's largest repository of Monet's art—more than the Musée d'Orsay or the Musée de l'Orangerie! Many of these pieces are unique and privately held treasures. 🌟 🎨 Must-see collections: In addition to Monet, the museum features an entire Impressionist circle! 🌸 Monet: The full series is here, from "Impression, Sunrise" (the origin of the term "Impressionism") to the "Water Lilies" and "Giverny Garden"—the colors are incredibly soothing! 🌸 👩🎨 Berthe Morisot: The Impressionist master of portraying women and everyday life, with an entire room dedicated to her works—her art is incredibly gentle and heartwarming. 🌸 🌊 Eugène Boudin special exhibition: Currently very popular! There's quite a line to see it! 🌊 👨👨👧👦 Impressionist family pack: Renoir, Degas, Pissarro, Sisley, and other Impressionist greats are also on display! 🎨 🏛️ There's also a floor dedicated to Napoleonic-era furniture and portraits, which adds to the museum's atmospheric charm! 🏰 🌳 Right next to the museum is a secret garden where Parisians take their kids for a stroll. After visiting the exhibition, you can walk around the nearby Ranelagh Park, which is shaded by green trees. Many French mothers bring their children here to play, and there are also dog walkers. It's a great place to experience local Parisian life. This season is perfect—spring is in full bloom. Find a bench to sit on, soak up the sun, bring a book, and daydream a little. You can instantly embrace the slow Parisian lifestyle! 🌳 💰 Admission is 14 euros, and I recommend allocating about 3 hours for visiting the exhibition, taking photos, and strolling around the park. 🕰️ #ParisMuseumRecommendations #Impressionism #Monet #HiddenGems #ArtisticDayTrip #BertheMorisot #EugeneBoudin #MuséeMarmottanMonet #ParisTravel
