Went to Forsythia in Old City — was excited for the foie gras mousse, but that turned out disappointing. Other dishes were better though! 🍞 House Bread – So hard my friend cut her palate on it 😅. Butter seemed mixed with red wine? Slightly tangy. 🦢 Foie Gras Mousse – Was looking forward to it, but… meh. Sweet-sour style, but the foie flavor got lost in gaminess. Served with overly sweet dried fruit that had a strong anise taste — instant turn-off 😭. 🐌 Escargot – Delicious! Sweet-tangy sauce with almond slices — great texture. Good with bread (if you can handle the hardness). Served warm but cooled quickly — portion was small. 🥩 Wagyu Beef Short Ribs – Yum! Sweet-sour braised sauce, super tender beef. Side of stuffed porcini mushrooms — delicate and tasty. 🕊️ Stuffed California Squab – Roasted squab (pigeon) — smelled like Chinese street BBQ! A wing + leg + tender breast (medium). Stuffed with a bit of foie filling (just enough, more would be rich). Served with black currant red cabbage (sweet-sour) and a creamy mushroom-like sauce. 🍌 Pot De Creme – Fancy banana pudding with crispy streusel and thin jelly on top. First bite = delicious, like condensed banana milk. Second bite = so sweet I felt like I could march straight to Lhasa 🏔️. #PhillyEats #FrenchCuisine #ForsythiaPhilly #FineDining #FoodReview #SweetButTooSweet 🍽️✨
