Philadelphia’s Charming Middle Eastern Spot: Malooga

🌟 Malooga 134 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19106 🫓 Hummus Shawarma – $10.99 My favorite dish — exceeded expectations! The best chicken hummus I’ve tried so far. Comes with a huge, warm, palm-sized flatbread — so satisfying! 🐑 Lamb Haneeth – $29.99 Slightly disappointing, as I was really looking forward to this. The rice was a bit bland for my taste (I prefer richer, oilier rice). It had raisins and almond slices, and the lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender. I ended up pouring the Shrimp Fahsah broth over the rice — much better! 🦐 Shrimp Fahsah – $22.99 Shrimp, potato chunks, and okra stewed together — pretty tasty! Served with another flatbread. 🍮 Umm Ali (Ali's Mom) – $7.99 A dense, hearty Egyptian dessert. Topped with crunchy nuts and coconut, sweet inside — texture reminded me of slightly dried oatmeal porridge. ☕️ Yemeni Latte – $3.99 My first Yemeni latte — milky, sweet, and so comforting on a cold day. Portions are huge — we packed two boxes of leftovers, enough for two more meals! Our server was a bit new and made a few slip-ups, but she was very friendly. Overall, a pleasant dining experience — definitely coming back! #NewYearNewFinds #DinnerTonight #Philadelphia #PhillyFood #PhillyEats #FoodDiaries #PhillyLife
