🇫🇷 South of France Solo Trip 👌 Safe & Easy for Women
I stayed in Cannes for 8 days and took daily trains to nearby cities—super convenient! Better options: Stay in Antibes (my favorite!) or Nice for easier access. 🎬 Cannes: 7/10 ⚠️ Not worth it outside film festival season. Expensive, meh service. 🏨 Where I stayed: Pierre et Vacances Cannes Villa Francia (3km from center, sea views). Festival season: ~¥2000/night | Off-season: Much cheaper. 🍽️ Food Reviews: 🦪 ASTOUX ET BRUN (€40 pp) – Oysters = 👍, grilled fish = 👎. 🚫 Pitaya Thaï Street Food – Avoid! Terrible (€10 pp). 🍴 Yvan's (€40 pp) – Frog legs (bland), duck liver truffle steak (yum!), soufflé (overpriced). 💔 Missed: Michelin-starred L'AFFABLE (blackout ruined my plans… someone eat there for me!). 🏔️ Antibes: 8/10 Hidden gem! Clean, friendly, stunning sea + mountain views, low prices. 🎨 Must-see: Picasso Museum. 🍽️ Best Meal: La Pergola (€20 pp) – Grandpa-run, so kind & affordable! 🐟 Seafood Spot: LA PESCHERIA – 6 oysters = €12! Regret not trying sashimi… next time! 🍋 Menton & Monaco: 5/10 Skip. Boring (IMO). Monaco = no signal, hard to get taxis. 😤 🏝️ Nice: 8/10 Big-city vibes + turquoise "jelly sea" + charming Old Town. 🍽️ Brasserie Le Gambetta (€40 pp) – Packed with locals. Seafood pasta (huge but meh), oyster toast (burnt… but oysters still good). 🚆 Transport Tips: All cities except Nice are walkable from the train station. Nice: Use trams. #Nice #SouthOfFrance #Antibes #Monaco #Menton #Cannes #FranceTravel #SoloTravel #EuropeTravel
