Back with another hidden gemâthis time, itâs BĂ©ziers, a quaint town just next to Montpellier! Let me take you through some must-see landmarks for the perfect city walk đ¶ââïžâš đ Pont Vieux (Old Bridge) A 12th-century icon (with possible Roman foundations!), this stone bridge over the Orb River is the postcard-perfect symbol of BĂ©ziers. Itâs not just a historic crossingâitâs the heartbeat of the cityâs identity. đą Pont-Canal sur lâOrb & Les 9 Ăcluses de Fonseranes One of the worldâs earliest large canal bridges, this engineering marvel connects to the 17th-century 9-lock staircase, where boats climb a 21-meter drop like a watery escalator! Nearby, you can even hop on a tourist train đ for a scenic ride. đ Passerelle Cardinal Pierre de Bonsi A sky-high footbridge leading to the cathedral, offering stunning views of the old town below. Thereâs even a prison-turned-hotel hereâsadly, I didnât get to stay, but itâs on my bucket list! đ âȘ CathĂ©drale Saint-Nazaire The spiritual and visual pinnacle of BĂ©ziers, this Gothic gem stands where an 8th-century church once did. Its southern French Gothic style makes it a must-visit for history lovers. đż Plateau des PoĂštes (Poetsâ Park) A peaceful English-style garden with a statue of Victor Hugo and his touching poem to his daughter: "Tomorrow, at dawn, when the fields turn pale, I will depart. You see, I know you wait for me.
