🇫🇷 Who Said Cannes Is Boring???

My third trip to the South of France, but my first time in Cannes—and wow, was I wrong to underestimate it! I expected just a glitzy, Monaco-like vibe, so I only planned one day... but I fell in love! 💙 From the charming hillside bars near the castle to the cinematic streets that felt straight out of Mr. Bean’s Holiday, every corner was a delight. And since I visited right before the film festival, the city was buzzing with movie posters, murals, and art—like stepping into a time machine! 🎞️ 🚆 Getting There: ✔ Nice → Cannes: 35 min by train ✔ Marseille → Cannes: 1.5 hours 🏨 Where to Stay? Avoiding festival dates = way cheaper than Nice! 💰 €50/night for a cute hotel opposite the train station—with a rooftop bar & great views! 🗺️ Must-Do List: ✅ Marilyn Monroe Mural (Near the train station) ✅ Rue Meynadier – Shopping, souvenirs & cafés ☕ ✅ Marché Forville – Local market vibes 🥖 ✅ Cannes Sign – Hike up for the iconic shot 📸 ✅ Notre Dame d’Esperance – Best viewpoint! (Full city + sea views 🌊) ✅ Vieux Port – Luxury yachts & coastal charm ⛵ ✅ Les Murs Peints – 100 years of film history (Mickey, Chaplin, Batman! 🎥) ✅ Walk of Fame – Find director handprints near the Palais ✅ Palais des Festivals – Red carpet dreams! (Closed during the festival) ✅ Croisette Beach – Tiny but pretty 🏖️ ✨ My Favorite Spot? The hillside walk from the murals to the summit—lined with adorable bars & restaurants (and shockingly affordable!). I randomly picked a 4.5+ Google-rated French bistro—€36 for 3 courses! 🍽️ Final Verdict: Cannes > My Expectations. Already planning my return! 😍 #CannesFilmFestival #EuropeTravel #FrenchRiviera #France #HiddenGems 🎬🌴
