π¬π§ A Hidden Gem Even 99% of Londoners Don't Know About!
βοΈ Flying back to London from Glasgow, landing at Stansted Airport, I checked the map and realized the long-awaited Henry Moore Studio & Gardens was just 20 minutes away! What I imagined would be a small exhibit turned out to be an absolutely massive energy field! β‘ πͺ¨ Scattered across the grounds are works by Henry Moore (arguably Britain's most important modern sculptor - though some might say Antony Gormley). Multiple studios and even small inspiration rooms make this place truly extraordinary. π¨ You can witness Moore's entire creative process - from how he lived and found inspiration, to his experiments and final masterpieces. The preserved studios show tools frozen in time, with plaster dust still on surfaces decades later. π The surrounding sheep fields add magic, with animals sheltering under sculptures - a poetic blend of art and nature. I deeply regret not visiting sooner - this destination is absolutely worth a special trip from London! β¨ Highlights: β’ 72 acres of stunning countryside β’ Moore's original studios exactly as he left them β’ Over 20 monumental sculptures in landscape β’ Seasonal sheep grazing among artworks β’ Fascinating archival materials #ArtLover #BaselArtMoments #LookUpAtArt #CreativeInspiration #TravelDiaries #HiddenLondon #HenryMoore #ArtInNature #LondonHiddenGems #DayTripsFromLondon
