🇬🇧 After 7 Days in London, I Discovered the Best Things Are FREE!
Just back from London and still dreaming about it! 😭 One week wasn’t enough—the city’s best gems are all free (especially the museums!). Here’s my lazy-girl-approved guide, divided into 3 zones with hotel/food recs—save this for your trip! 🌟 1️⃣ Central London: Iconic Landmarks 🏛️ British Museum, National Gallery, Covent Garden, Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Oxford Street + hidden gem Marylebone (near Oxford St). ⚠️ Covent Garden thrifting WIN: Snagged a £30 Ralph Lauren pink shirt (like new!) + the best Barbour store (with exclusive Transporter series—£100+ cheaper than China!). ❤️ National Gallery’s (merch) is FIRE—went crazy for their tote bags! 🕙 Time needed: At least 3 days (5hrs in British Museum, 4hrs in National Gallery, 2 days shopping!). 2️⃣ West London: The Fancy Zone 🎬 Notting Hill, V&A Museum, Natural History Museum, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens. ⚠️ Thrift goldmine: Fara Charity Shop - North End Road (a street of charity shops in a rich area = designer steals!). 3️⃣ East London: Hipster Vibes 🎨 Tate Modern, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge, Borough Market, The Shard. (Note: True "East London" is near Liverpool Street Station—more in my shopping guide!) ⚠️ Borough Market = BEST market (others feel repetitive). Love its layout + nearby Borough Yards (posh shopping spot). 🚇 Transport: Contactless card: Spent ~£47/week (same cost as a weekly pass!). 🏨 Hotel Rec: Citadines Holborn (6-night stay! 🏆 Huge rooms, 200m to Holborn Station, direct Tube to airport, walkable to British Museum). 🍽️ Food Recs: Dishoom (Bombay café vibes). Flat Iron (£12 steak?!). Pro Tip: London’s free museums are next-level—plan enough time! (I lost days in them 😅). #LondonTravel #UKGuide #FreeLondon #HiddenGems #ThriftFinds #MuseumHoppers #TravelSmart
