🇬🇧 Birmingham | A Half-Day Escape for the Hungry

Tired, easily-hungry, and assignment-weary students like us took the train from Norwich 🚄 to Birmingham. We didn’t want to walk too much, so we stuck to eating + shopping — then headed back to the hotel to heal our dissertation-battered souls ❤️‍🩹. Here’s what we did: 📍 Grosvenor Casino – Peaky Blinders Wall A must-visit spot in Brum! 🕶️ Dark outfits and sunglasses = instant vibe. Just 5 mins walk from the station. 📍 Red Brick Market A street full of quirky little items and clothes (though tbh a lot felt like Made in China 🇨🇳). A bit out of the way, but worth a browse if you have time. Cool graffiti along the way 📸. Highlight: a vintage shop where you can take photo booth pics — though it’s kinda hard to see how they turn out 😤. Clothes had a musty smell but some gems hidden in there! 📍 Look In Takeaway Restaurant 6 Ladywell Walk, B5 4ST As Cantonese folks, we LOVED the roast duck, fatty char siu, andfermented tofu greens) ✅. Hainanese chicken was also delicious ✅. The sizzling ginger scallion chicken wasn’t really our style 🚫. Accepts cash & WeChat Pay! 📍 Meet Fresh – 21 Hurst St, B5 4AS Tasted just like we remembered 😌 Taro balls and mochi = ❤️! 📍 Pasture Birmingham 15 Colmore Row, B3 2BH Great service 👏, no dress code. SO GOOD we forgot to take pictures 😂 The medium-rare T-bone steak was god-tier 🥩 Steak + red wine = literal soul food 🍷 They ask if it’s your birthday/anniversary — might get you a little treat with writing on it! 📍 Aparthotel Adagio Birmingham City Centre Clean, walkable to shops + station.
