🇬🇧 Day Trip from Nottingham|Lincoln One-Day Guide
Lincoln is a charming town near Nottingham – just about an hour by train 🚆. Round-trip tickets cost around £15, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed weekend getaway! It's less known among Chinese tourists, so you'll mostly see locals around – a true hidden gem 😊. 1️⃣ Owl Encounter 🦉 Right after exiting the train station, you’ll find a real owl you can pet and take photos with! This little guy is super calm and cooperative – at first glance, I thought it was a stuffed toy 😄. 2️⃣ Lunch: Crust Restaurant We wandered through the pedestrian street to this family-style restaurant 🍽️. It’s quite popular on Xiaohongshu. They mostly offer set menus (around £10+), including a starter (I had fish – served cold but not fishy), a main (steak, more like stewed beef – tender but not super soft), and dessert. Everything was just okay – not worth a special trip in my opinion. 3️⃣ Climb the Steep Hill 🏞️ After lunch, we hiked up a reaaally steep slope toward the cathedral. Along the way, we popped into some vintage shops when we needed a break 😅: Yak: Great for men's Ralph Lauren shirts 👔. Bo Peep Boutique: A must-visit for Jellycat lovers! Lots of stock, including some rare finds 🧸. 4️⃣ Lincoln Cathedral 🕍 Students get in free – remember your student ID! We were lucky to catch the choir singing 🎶. The interior is stunningly ornate – definitely sit for a while and take it all in. 5️⃣ Dinner: Thailand No.1 🍛 We ordered green coconut curry with beef + chicken balls. The curry portion looked small but was more than enough for two! Loads of beef – we couldn’t even finish it. Lincoln is pretty small – most attractions are near the cathedral. A half or full day is plenty ☺️. Perfect for a spontaneous, soothing day out! #NottinghamDayTrip #LincolnUK #UKTravel #HiddenGems #CathedralVisit #StudyAbroad
