π¬π§ How to Spend One Day in Birmingham ππ
I took a bus from Cardiff π to Birmingham β 2 hours 40 mins β±οΈ (Pro tip: Take the train instead if you canβ¦ the bus was so dizzying! π₯Ή) First stop: the iconic Peaky Blinders mural wall π§₯β οΈ β super impressive and totally photo-worthy! πΈ In the afternoon, I took a taxi π from Birmingham New Street to the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley (30 mins ride). The Living Museum was SO MUCH FUN! I regret not coming earlier π. ποΈ Ticket: Β£20 (and itβs valid for return within a year!) There are NPCs walking around and chatting with you β it really brings history to life! The whole place is like a giant, interactive toy model from childhood π§Έπ. You can explore: Matchstick factory Coal mine Old canals Sweet shops π¬ Pharmacy & grocery stores The vintage outfits and atmosphere totally pull you into old English life. And yes β itβs a Peaky Blinders filming location! You can see Charlieβs Yard and the canals from the show π¬. Felt like I was part of the series π. Lastly β you MUST eat at The Malaya Classic in Birmingham! π Highly recommend: Kampung Fried Rice (blew my mind!) Curry Laksa Nasi Lemak So good I went back for dinner after having it for breakfast! π #UKStudent #CardiffUni #Birmingham #PhDlife #RelaxAndExplore π¬π§β¨
