I recently discovered a French restaurant near Mayfair that blew us away! The table next to us had people who flew in from Singapore just to eat here. My friend and I both thought it was Michelin-star worthy. Since it only opened last year, it’s still under the radar on social media. I wanted to share some of the standout dishes that we loved. 🌟 **Scottish Hand-Dived XXL Scallop** As a scallop connoisseur, this was an absolute must-order for me, and it did not disappoint! The chef mentioned that these scallops are 8-10 years old, with a diameter of over 3 cm just for the scallop muscle. The chef even showed us the shells, which was a fun touch. To preserve the scallop’s sweetness and texture, they are pan-seared on one side, leaving them almost raw but perfectly cooked, with the sweetness maximized. It’s hands down the best scallop I’ve had in London. 🦪 🌟 **Dry Aged Fillet of Wild Scottish Turbot** This dish was a delightful surprise. The turbot was perfectly pan-seared, but what really made it shine were the accompanying white asparagus and cloudberry. April to June is the season for white asparagus, which is hard to find outside of this period. Using seasonal ingredients shows the restaurant’s dedication. Cloudberry, a fruit similar to blackberries and native to Norway, has a tangy sweetness and a unique aroma that complements the fish beautifully. 🐟 🌟 **Bread and Dessert** The bread deserves its own mention because it was truly exceptional. First up was a caramelized brioche, which many people compared to a previous offering from The Ledbury. The pastry chef even mentioned being a fan of The Ledbury. It was served with two types of butter—one plain and one truffle-infused. Their second bread was a rosemary sourdough, which was still steaming hot when served. The rosemary flavor was very pronounced, and it was perfect for dipping in the soup. The desserts were also top-notch. One standout was the raspberry sorbet, which was paired with fresh raspberries, raspberry pudding, white chocolate, and a hint of yuzu. The combination was complex yet not overwhelming. The madeleine they served at the end was also a delightful touch. 🍰 🌟 **Overall Impression** This restaurant has been a delightful surprise, and I haven’t had such a great experience in a while. If you love seafood, this is a must-try. Besides the scallops, they also have lobster, crab, and tuna with caviar. For meat lovers, they offer organic meats as well. 🌟 **The Cocochine** Average cost: £180+ #UKFood #GlobalFoodHunter #LocalFoodieRecommendations #HiddenGems #UKLiving
