🇬🇧 London's First Michelin-Starred 🌟 Indian Restaurant 🍽️

Double Visit to Tamarind This restaurant was once London’s earliest Michelin-starred Indian eatery. Though it has since lost its star (now only listed in the guide), the flavors, ambiance, and service remain impeccable! [👍][👍] On my first visit, I tried the set menu. This time, I ordered à la carte. Here’s a quick review of my experience. Starters 1️⃣ Veg Samosa A gourmet version of an Indian street snack, beautifully presented like an ice cream cone. The pastry is crispy and light, not greasy at all. The seasoning is mild yet layered, making it a great appetizer. 🥠✨ 2️⃣ Coconut Seabass Tender sea bass in a creamy coconut curry—delicate, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. The rich sauce doesn’t overpower the fish’s natural sweetness. 🐟🥥 3️⃣ Tandoori Octopus Grilled to perfection with a satisfying chew. The Indian spices are deeply infused, and the accompanying salsa is unexpectedly delicious. 🐙🔥 Mains 1️⃣ Lamb Biryani A classic spiced rice dish served with flair. The grains are distinct, and the lamb is fall-apart tender, well-seasoned, and portioned just right. 🍛🐑 2️⃣ Prawn Curry Aromatic curry with plump, fresh prawns. The thick sauce carries hints of coconut and mango—perfect for summer. 🍤🌴 3️⃣ Raj Aloo The biggest surprise of the night! Spiced potatoes with a harmonious blend of flavors that don’t clash. Delicious hot or cold—highly recommended! 🥔💫 4️⃣ Stir-fried Okra Light and non-slimy okra with a subtle Indian twist. Those who love bold spices might find it mild, but it’s a great palate cleanser. 🥬🍃 5️⃣ Tilli Dal Silky-smooth yellow lentils with a smoky undertone. Almost like a dal puree—rich and comforting, perfect with naan or rice. 🍛🔥 Drinks 🍷 Sistri Felsina Chardonnay A crisp white wine that pairs beautifully with coconut and seafood. 🍾 🍨 Tamarind Cup A tamarind-inspired dessert—tangy, sweet, and slightly smoky. The grilled pineapple inside is a standout. 🍍 Desserts 🍫 Warm Fondant A classic chocolate lava cake—decadent and French-inspired. Safe choice for those with a sweet tooth. 🍮💖 🍧 Blackberry Kulfi A fusion of traditional Indian kulfi and blackberry. Dense, creamy, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tart. 🍨🖤 🥭 Alphonso Mango Mille-Feuille The most stunning dessert of the night! Layers of flaky pastry, cream, and intensely sweet Alphonso mango—pure bliss. 🥭💛 🍵 Masala Tea The perfect post-meal drink—creamy, spiced, and aromatic with ginger and cardamom. A flawless finish. ☕🌿 💰 £100+ per person #IrresistibleExoticCuisine #IndianFood #London #LondonLife #GlobalFlavors #RestaurantWorthRevisiting
