🇬🇧 Nottingham, UK

I arrived on the first evening and explored the Christmas market. The rest of the places were visited the next day—all in just over a day. 🏛️ City Hall & Trams Nottingham has trams—something Cambridge doesn’t! It felt so cyberpunk 🚊🤖 watching them glide between retro-style buildings. 🎨 Street Art & Graffiti The streets are filled with murals and graffiti. After tweaking the saturation in photos, everything looked surreal 🌈✨. It felt like a hidden corner where imagination thrives within an industrial world. I saw many pieces walking from City Hall to Green’s Windmill (though I forgot exactly where!). 🎄 Christmas Market The churros were delicious 😋, the grilled sausage was huge and cheaper than Cambridge’s! Roasted marshmallow was nice too—though mine got a bit burnt 🔥. There was an ice rink (didn’t try) and a Ferris wheel—£8.50 for 3 rounds. At night, the lights below looked magical 🎡💫. 🌾 Green’s Windmill and Science Centre ❤️ Probably the highlight of my trip! A 20-min walk from where I stayed. Passed more cool graffiti and stopped by St Stephen Church (next to the mill). The windmill’s history is fascinating, and the science centre’s interactive experiments were so fun—great for kids 🧪🔬! The gift shop was affordable, and the camomile tea (£1.80) was especially good. And the view from the mill windows—almost a full panoramic view of Nottingham! 📸 It’s incredibly photogenic. For some reason, photos from the castle didn’t capture the same depth. 🏰 Nottingham Castle The panoramic view is stunning (though weirdly hard to photograph well!). The exhibition halls (B1 & B2) have cool interactive games that teach Nottingham’s history 🎮📜. 🦌 Wollaton Hall, Gardens and Deer Park Famous for its deer! I saw them—but you can’t get too close (they usually run off 🦌💨). It’s a bit far from the city centre, but totally worth it. The natural history museum here has exceptionally high-quality specimens—better than I expected! 😮 Sadly, it closes at 4 PM (they start ushering people out at 3:45). I only had 20 minutes, so I rushed through 😢. #UK #Nottingham #StudyAbroad #Travel #Architecture #Science #Christmas #StudentLife
