🇬🇧 The Best Part of The Aubrey at The Mandarin Oriental in London

The Aubrey, the Japanese restaurant inside The Mandarin Oriental in London, has an excellent location and tastefully decorated dining area! It's not that hard to book; you can even get a reservation on the same day. 🏰 In a food desert like London, sometimes it can be really disheartening. Whether it's cheap or expensive, the food often doesn't taste that great. Honestly, it's not that I'm picky—it's just that the food standards here would be considered ordinary in Hong Kong. The most satisfying part of this meal was the pre-dinner cocktail (definitely order the apple one—it's delicious!) and the chopsticks featured in the first photo. They have an amazing texture! [Thumbs Up] I had their signature wagyu beef sandwich many years ago in Hong Kong, and the version there was far superior in terms of the marbling and the tenderness of the beef. (I'll recommend that place in Hong Kong next time—it's truly delicious!) The wagyu here in London had a lot of chewy sinew. The oysters were disappointingly thin, and the other dishes were just average with no real standout features. But the prices at London restaurants always seem to be a surprise—fine dining at ordinary levels leaves a rather empty feeling. 🍔 Most of the diners at the restaurant were Asian, including many young guys who looked like students. They would quietly order a set meal, eat it in silence, and then pay without a word. In a place like London, there are plenty of lonely second-generation individuals, and hearing their stories adds an interesting touch to the journey. 🧑‍🎓 #food #HiddenGemsInLuxuryHotels #EatingBeautifully #LifeInUK #LifeInLondon #MandarinOrientalLondon #JapaneseCuisineInLondon
