I stumbled upon WatchHouse next to the Courtauld Gallery and instantly fell in love. The only downside that first time was they served my coffee in a disposable cup despite the beautiful setting—such a waste! 😔 This trip to London, I made sure to visit twice during my short stay. Here’s why it’s so special: ☕️ They’re the only place that offers a complimentary coffee tasting while you wait! This is especially helpful for pour-over orders, which take longer to prepare. The tasting options are all beans they sell, so you can preview your choice—perfect for indecisive folks like me! I tried all three of their bean varieties (beige, pink, and blue packages) and ended up taking home a bag of washed-process beans. ☕️ They serve a small cup of green tea to cleanse your palate 🍵. Some cafés offer sparkling water, but WatchHouse in New York doesn’t—how unfair! ☕️ The cups are pre-warmed to maintain the ideal temperature from pot to sip—allowing you to experience the full journey of flavors from hot to warm to cool.
