🇬🇧 York | Little Italy | Italian Cuisine Next to the Cathedral
Good evening, York's gentry and ladies! 🙇🏻♀️ 📍 Little Italy Restaurant & Deli Average Spend: Main courses £20-33, with appetizers you can easily keep it under £30. Nestled in the historic district, Little Italy is not just a popular old-school favorite but also the kind of place where every bite feels like home-cooked Italian comfort food. We really took our time to order a full table, and every single dish was a hit! 💕 🍕 What We Ate: 1️⃣ Agnello al Chianti Rosso (Red Wine Braised Lamb Shank) This lamb shank was truly amazing! The meat was incredibly tender, falling off the bone with just a gentle prod. Paired with Italian red wine sauce and sweet potato puree, it was absolutely delicious! 🍖 2️⃣ Salmone Fantasia (Salmon with Shrimp) The crispy salmon skin paired with a smooth orange-infused white sauce. The sauce, made from white wine, cream, and tomatoes, had a perfect Italian twist. The sauce was the star of the dish! 🍣 3️⃣ Misto di Pesce (Seafood Platter) The giant seafood pasta in the photo is this dish! It had an enormous portion of mussels, squid, shrimp, crab, and sea bass, all in a tomato and white wine-based sauce. It's very refreshing, though a bit rich if you eat too much. Perfect for sharing among a group! 🦐 4️⃣ Pollo Farcito (Stuffed Chicken Breast) Chicken breast wrapped in Rosello ham and Provolone cheese, served with a herb-infused creamy white sauce. The sauce was rich but not greasy. When you cut into the chicken, the cheese oozes out, making it incredibly tender and flavorful. The combination of creaminess and savory flavors was spot-on! 🍗 5️⃣ Fritto Misto (Mixed Fried Seafood) Lightly fried and not greasy, this dish included squid rings, shrimp, and salmon pieces. Served with lemon and a slightly sweet dipping sauce, it enhanced the freshness of the seafood with just a light dip. 🍤 6️⃣ Funghi con Polenta Tartufo (Truffle Mushrooms with Polenta) The dish combined the earthy aroma of mushrooms with truffle oil and a creamy sauce, served over crispy polenta (a bit salty, haha). The truffle added a perfect finishing touch, and the textures were delightful! 🍄 🍃 Why You Should Go: 1️⃣ The atmosphere is vintage and cozy. The staff are all very good-looking, dressed in flattering outfits that show off their figures. 2️⃣ Every dish is generous in portion and rich in flavor—this is the real deal for a hearty Italian meal. 3️⃣ Perfect for family dinners, gatherings with friends, or anyone looking to enjoy a serious, satisfying meal! #Yorkshire #YorkFoodie #UniversityOfYork #UKLife #YorkEats #YorkTravel #YorkMinster #UKYork #UniversityOfYork
