π¬πͺ Sighnaghi Day Trip Guide | Georgia's Wine Town
After crossing the border from Azerbaijan, we arrived directly in Sighnaghi β a stunning hilltop town. Highly recommend staying 1-2 nights to fully experience it! πΊοΈ Itinerary Guide: Sighnaghi is small β a leisurely half-day is enough to explore. Key spots are within walking distance: 1οΈβ£ Sighnaghi Viewpoint: The most iconic photo spot! Shoot downhill from the viewpoint (a long lens works best). Afternoon sunlight casts a golden glow β magical! π 2οΈβ£ Cafe Medea: Famous for red wine ice cream π·π¦ (5 GEL). Outdoor seating with great views. Best visited at dusk. Mostly Chinese tourists, but service is friendly! 3οΈβ£ St. George Basilica: A church perched high up β visible from many parts of town. 4οΈβ£ Sighnaghi Wall: Climb the medieval fortress walls for panoramic views. Wear sports shoes β some paths are steep! 5οΈβ£ Sighnaghi National Museum: Worth a visit if youβre into history. π· Wine Experience: We chose Okroβs Wine but skipped the tasting flight (poor value). Instead, 5 of us ordered 5 different full glasses π, shared them, and tasted all varieties β cheaper and more generous than the flight! Go at dusk: The rooftop view at blue hour is breathtaking! Sip wine while overlooking the town β pure bliss. Avoid food here: Their dishes are mediocre. Focus on wine and views! π Restaurant Recommendation: Restaurant Tsikara (town center) β a lucky find during rain! π§οΈ Must-try: Their pizza! We ordered two β that good! Other dishes were also delicious. The owner gifted us free chacha (strong, like Chinese) β we had two rounds π. Their beer is refreshing too! π¨ Accommodation: Guest House Maradona β a gorgeous B&B with mountain-view rooms (only ~200 RMB/night!). Balcony rooms offer stunning town views. Breakfast (15 GEL/person) is served on the balcony or at a shared dining area with equally great views. Note: Location is slightly remote β the walk back at night might feel eerie if alone. #Sighnaghi #TravelGeorgia #WineLovers
