Known as Georgia’s famous wine town, Sighnaghi boasts beautiful fortress walls and towers. It was recommended by Lonely Planet as one of the most beautiful towns in Georgia 🏰. The town is celebrated for its romantic atmosphere and rich wine culture, earning it the nickname "Town of Love." With a 24/7 marriage registration office, many couples choose to marry here, making it an incredibly romantic destination 💕. You can explore the town in a day on foot. Here are the must-visit spots for a city walk: 1️⃣ Sighnaghi National Museum Home to local historical artifacts and works by Georgian painters. ⏰ Closed on weekends and Mondays. 2️⃣ Sighnaghi Viewpoint While there are many viewpoints in town, this one offers the classic panoramic perspective of Sighnaghi, located at a fork in the road. Their cakes are freshly made with jam, and the owner kindly gave me an extra serving of jam (see Figure 4) 🍦🍰. 4️⃣ Sighnaghi St. George Basilica Perched on the town’s high ground, this church is integrated with the fortress walls and towers.
